Michael Graves Architecture & Design
Michael Graves is an icon whose work was at the forefront of architecture and design for over 50 years, renowned for being one of the few architects who invented a style. Graves came to SGLA with the aim of reinvigorating his career. With this in mind, SGLA approached the Architectural League to organize a symposium to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Grave’s career. Our team collaborated with the prestigious organization to generate interest in the event, which was so successful that a larger auditorium had to be booked to accommodate the 700 guests. SGLA further strengthened Grave’s reputation through top-tier press coverage, including in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Washington Post. We directly put into motion the development of his first biography, Michael Graves: Design for Life (Rizzoli, 2017). Our work with Graves also extended to promoting his innovative work in accessible design and universal design, including the Wounded Warrior Home at Fort Belvoir, VA.
