Laura Kimpton
Laura Kimpton is a California-based contemporary artist who is best known for her Monumental Word sculptures, which she created over many years at the annual Burning Man festival at Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. SGLA worked with Kimpton for two years with the aim of raising her profile, securing coverage for her work, arranging press events at Art Basel Miami, and the installation of monumental word sculptures in: Arlington, Texas; Las Vegas; Miami; New York City; and San Francisco. We introduced Kimpton to the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, where she then participated in the group exhibition Word (2016). We also introduced Kimpton to HG Contemporary Gallery, and the private club Omar’s, where she showed her sculpture Love for a year.
