RUR Architecture
RUR Architecture is a New York-based firm with international projects across a wide range of scales and programs. Its diverse portfolio of built and speculative work is informed by deep research and regard for context. SGLA has worked with the firm to raise awareness of its multifaceted practice, including design, exhibitions, and books. For instance, SGLA oversaw the campaign for the Performance Hall at the Taipei Music Center, the first building in a multi-phase, nine-hectare masterplan that RUR has been working on for over a decade. Additionally, SGLA collaborated on the firm’s exhibition Building Beyond Place: RUR Engages Taiwan’s Architectural Cosmopolitanism, held at TAAC Tribeca in 2019, which included inviting press to an opening night celebration as well as a panel discussion. SGLA also promoted Reiser and Umemoto’s book Projects and Their Consequences (2019), with a launch at Rizzoli in New York and subsequent lectures and discussions.
